Here I go, trying to write again. It's hard to write with nothing to write about, but my newest endeavor has made me even chattier than normal. I always thought watching the Food Network would be enough to feed my culinary hunger, until culinary school popped up in my life. If I loved the Food Network so much, why not try to make a career of it. In May I graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a degree in communications and a minor in marketing. Before culinary school was even a thought in my mind, I wanted to be a news anchor. I held an internship position at WGN Television and that was fantastic, but the sudden realization of the fact that there are a total of 3 (okay maybe I'm exaggerating) news anchors at a time was really frightening. How was I going to set myself apart from all of the other wannabe news anchors?! With graduation and the real world swiftly approaching, I needed to do something. With my only job prospects being unpaid internships in Chicago, I jumped right in to my culinary career. Literally. I graduated from Loyola on Friday, moved home, and started my first class at Joliet Junior College on Monday. That has possibly been my best decision yet. Writing in this is the best way I can imagine to share my exciting culinary school endeavors. Although I can't guarantee that my story will have you at the edge of your seat, I do hope you'll have some laughs (with me, and at me). Happy Cooking!
